Update: One thing I saw but didn’t put in because I couldn’t translate it well. In December, the “Nintendo Letter Box” messaging system will be available via the eShop. You are able to write or draw your own messages and attach 3D photos and voice clips to them. The service is operated via StreetPass and SpotPass.
Nintendo’s 3DS conference has just finished! Here are the details you wish to know:
– The update for the Nintendo 3DS, as confirmed earlier, contains 3D video recording. This also includes the ability to make Stop-Motion videos. Videos can be up to ten minutes long.
StreetPass Mii Plaza:
– New Puzzles for Puzzle Swap, including a Donkey Kong puzzle.
– StreetPass Quest 2, with the ability to have two “heroes” out at once.
– A person’s location is now displayed on a map when you meet them in the Plaza.
Mario Kart 7:
Mario Kart 7 has the previously confirmed 8-player multiplayer, playing at 60 Frames Per Second, and will feature support for “Clans”! Also, there will be a Mario Kart Channel, similar to the one on the Nintendo Wii, that will collect StreetPass data, including the ghosts of Miis you meet in your every day life. You can even take these ghost Miis and race against them online. Also, there will be daily ghost data given out over SpotPass.
Super Mario 3D Land:
A new trailer was shown that featured the return of Bowser’s giant airship!
3D Classics: Kid Icarus
Yeah, you read that right. The next 3D Classics title is Kid Icarus. Guess they want to hype Kid Icarus Uprising? In Japan, it will be given out for free – although there is no confirmation of any western release.
The Rolling Western will be available in February 2012. A few other games were shown, including a Samurai-themed action game and a few others including a new Rune Factory game. A Kingdom Hearts 3D trailer was shown, showing off the Dream Eaters – and they look like blue guinea pigs! A Monster Hunter Tri G trailer was shown shortly afterwards, and it looks to be on the most graphically impressive on the console so far.
In Japan, three Nintendo 3DS designs will be given away as part of a Club Nintendo promotion. The three 3DS’ are themed after characters from Nintendo’s Mario franchise, and only 1,000 of each will be available:
