The Nintendo Wii’s Virtual Console isn’t limited to only past Nintendo titles; it also allows players to buy the back catalogue of some of Nintendo’s now out-of-action competitors. Nintendo seems keen on keeping this approach with the Nintendo 3DS, as numerous websites are reporting that the American ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board) have given new ratings to two classic Sega Game Gear games: Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble and Shinobi.
Shortly after the 3DS’ launch, an announcement by SEGA that the above games and Sonic Drift 2, The GG Shinobi, Dragon Crystal and Columns will also be arriving to the eShop seems to have gone largely unnoticed.
It is currently unknown when the titles will be made available on the eShop. However, considering the large gap between the initial announcement and the ESRB ratings, we may not have to wait for very long.
