Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure was a huge hit for game company Activision when it was released on pretty much every current console last year. One of the most known features of the game was the use of real life figures, which can be used on multiple games on multiple systems and keep the same stats and whatnot.
Activision, always willing to make as much money out of a formula that proves itself successful has announced Skylanders: Giants, which will be compatible with all of the previous figures, as well as introducing eight new figures which are larger than previous ones and eight new regular sized figures. The game will also support some online modes.
One interesting thing of note, is that the new figures feature new built-in light technology that activates when they get close to a portal of power, which does not require batteries.
It is currently unknown what console the new game will be for, but if the previous game is anything to go by, we could easily see it being released on all the majority of current generation consoles, including the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U.
