A while ago, it was announced that three well known Japanese anime companies would be working on shorts to celebrate the release of Nintendo’s Kid Icarus: Uprising, which is set to land in stores on 23rd March in America and Europe. The Japanese Kid Icarus Twitter feed has shared some information about each one:
The first short, by Studio 4ºC (Tekkon Kinkreet, 2011’s Thundercats) follows the game’s antagonist Medusa as she goes deep into Pit’s past. It will also apparently highlight the rivalry between her and Goddess of Light, Palutena.
SHAFT (Pani Poni Dash, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) are up to their usual silliness in the second short, which focuses on the previously mentioned Palutena, following her attempts to deal with a catastrophe in her Skyworld home, involving a cooking contest?!
Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell, Eden of the East) will be giving us a short featuring Pit going up against one of Medusa’s minions, Thanatos.
The shorts will be distributed via the Nintendo Video service on Nintendo 3DS consoles at a currently unspecified date.
