Earlier this year, Nintendo head honcho Satoru Iwata (who recently made an appearance on your 3DS via SpotPass) made comments regarding the possibility of the Nintendo eShop service being used to distribute downloadable versions of games that are also available in retail stores (like the PlayStation Network, for example). Nothing has since been officially said on the matter; however, the chaps at 3DSBuzz are reporting that American publication Nintendo Power might have lifted the lid in a preview page for the next issue, stating that the game (which is known as UnchainBlade ReXX in Japan) which was released for the PSP last year, will be released for the 3DS, with suggestions that it might be available as a downloadable title. There is currently no confirmation on the western release format of the game, which is being apparently published by Xseed (who published the Wii’s The Last Story in Europe)
Unchained Blades is a dungeon crawler set in a world that is populated by monsters who have a human form when they’re children, but sprout wings when they reach their true power. The main character belongs to the Dragon race; the most powerful in the world. When his powers develop to the point where they are becoming a threat, a goddess seals him into a human form.
A trailer can be viewed here (And before anyone asks, yes, I am fairly sure that is Masakazu Morita (The voice of Ichigo in the anime Bleach and Barnaby Brooks Jr. in Tiger & Bunny).
