About a week ago it was officially announced that a sequel to the much loved Epic Mickey game was in the works for the Nintendo Wii, and not long after it was confirmed an Epic Mickey game was also in the works for the Nintendo 3DS going under the title of Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion.
Now for the interesting bit. The Wii title Epic Mickey: The Power of Two is said to have had its release date in Europe confirmed at a press event in Paris yesterday. It’s said that the game will see its release in Europe on the 26th of September. No news has been given on a release date for the 3DS game, but we do have a few new details since our last report.
Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion is set to act as a follow-up to the Mega Drive game Castle of Illusion which was released back in the 1990s. Power of Illusion will act as its own side-scrolling adventure over just being a port of the Wii’s Epic Mickey: The Power of Two game. It’s said the game will make good use of the 3DS’s stylus such as to draw, or trace items into existence. Each level will feature hand draw sprites and parallax backgrounds, and will be based on an animated Disney film.
