Last month, SEGA and Nintendo started offering three titles from SEGA’s former handheld the GameGear for download through the Virtual Console section of the Nintendo 3DS’ eShop. Since then though, we haven’t had any confirmation of any more of SEGA’s titles reappearing on Nintendo’s latest handheld. However, fellow 3DS news website 3DSBuzz has been keeping a close eye on the Australian Classifications Board – a notable source of new release information before formal announcements. The website has found two recent classifications for GameGear titles though – Shining Force: Sword of Hajya and Defenders of Oasis, two critically acclaimed titles. The former being a tactical RPG that is said to be on par, or even superior to, Nintendo’s Fire Emblem series and the latter being a highly acclaimed RPG in its own right.
Neither game has been officially confirmed by SEGA as of writing, but it would not be surprising if they are announced soon. Now, I quite like Oasis, but I’m not sure I’d be willing to go into a full RPG to defend it.
