Now back in August we saw the release of “New Super Mario Bros. 2” for the Nintendo 3DS. One big aspect of this game is to collect as many coins as you can, and because of that it has a special mode which goes by the name of “Coin Rush”. Since the mode was first revealed it has long been known that Nintendo would offer extra courses as downloadable content sometime after the games release.
Today a special mini Nintendo Direct was released revealing the release date of the first three packs and gave us a look at the three. The three packs go by the name of Gold Rush Pack, Coin Challenge Pack A and Nerve Rack Pack. Each more difficult than the last and offering a challenge to even the best Super Mario Bros. players. The Gold Rush Pack is the easiest of the lot and while challenging players to collect 30,000 coins, offers really fun ways for you to achieve this goal. The Coin Challenge Pack A puts you against players from across the world and asks you to collect as many coins as you can to come out on top. Rankings for this pack will be available through the official “New Super Mario Bros. 2” website. The Nerve Rack Pack will again be getting you to compete against players from across the world, however this pack is the hardest of the lot and even the best Mario player may struggle with this one.
Normally in Coin Rush mode players play three different stages, but each are selected at random. However, that isn’t the case for the packs. They each have three set courses, which means you have the chance to play over and over again until you get good. All three packs are due to be released through the eShop today for a fair price of £2 each, although at the time of writing they aren’t on the eShop just yet.
Nintendo also revealed that another set of packs will be released at the end of October and again at the start of November. If you wish to watch the mini Nintendo Direct which showcases the packs you can find it here. Will you be downloading the packs?
