Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Transformed, the sequel to 2010’s Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing is being released on various video game platforms between November and December (including being a Wii U launch title). Like its prequel, the game features various SEGA characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog, the monkeys from the Super Monkey Ball franchise, Joe Musashi from Shinobi and even Ralph from Disney’s latest movie, Wreck-It Ralph, competing in races not unlike those in Nintendo’s Mario Kart series of games.
It has recently emerged on the internet that SUMO Digital lead producer Steve Lycett has stated that if fans can agree on three characters, he will present them to SEGA to be considered as possible downloadable content. The SEGA forum has made a post regarding this, explaining the rules of the game, stating that the 3 characters with the highest votes by 1st December 2012 will be put forward, with links to Change.org petitions for each character.
Personally, I’m backing Hatsune Miku, the cultural hit and mascot of media company Crypton Future Media’s “Vocaloid” program. SEGA has made various Hatsune Miku related games for various consoles, including the Japan exclusive 3DS game Hatsune Miku: Future Stars Project Mirai. Although Hatsune Miku’s games have yet to be released outside of Japan, a partially translated version of the PlayStation Vita’s Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f title was shown at SEGA’s E3 booth earlier this year, with the company trying to gouge interest for a possible localisation and the virtual idol has had hologram concerts in the United States. The demo for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Extend that I downloaded from the Japanese PlayStation Network onto my PSP is also my most played PSP title.
