It’s been a tough few months for our Operation Brave campaign since it launched in October. We have made some valuable allies with Bring Bravely Default: Flying Fairy To The West and Operation Rainfall, but it has been hard to find support. However, we recently managed to fight our way over the 1,000 signature hurdle and now we’ve jumped over the next one – Operation Brave, Bring Bravely Default To The West and Operation Rainfall now have over 2,000 signatures on our petition calling for Square Enix to localise the 3DS rpg Bravely Default: Flying Fairy and to release it in western territories. For a comparison, that means the number of signatures is roughly equal to the population of the village I live in.
It has been challenging as many fan websites simply ignore us or refuse to write articles promoting our cause, but it has also opened our eyes to the welcome, brotherly world of video game campaigns – we each have our own goals, but we are not above giving much needed support to our brethren. Without their help, we could not have possibly reached 500 signatures – never mind 1,000 or 2,000.
However, our fight is not over – and it won’t be until our supports from across the globe can all insert a copy of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy into their Nintendo 3DS consoles. So we ask that anyone who reads this, please share this with your friends, family, coworkers, secret lovers and even pets. Together, we can be brave and we will not accept the default – we will secure a western release for Bravely Default: Flying Fairy!
Thank you all so much for your support so far. Hopefully it won’t take us long to reach the next milestone and to secure a western release!
