On Wednesday, game developer SEGA announced that it is porting the 1991 original Sonic the Hedgehog game once again. After being made available on almost every available console, Sonic is dashing onto the Nintendo 3DS eShop in Japan…remade in full stereoscopic 3D! The game also adds some new features to the game:
- The Spin Dash move
- The ability to save mid-game (similar to 3DS Virtual Console “Restore Points”?)
- The choice to play both the Japanese and overseas versions of the game
- Ability to use the 3D to render the gameplay as if the game was being played through an old CRT television
The game will cost 600-yen (£3.90). An international release has yet to be confirmed.
