Earlier this week, a demo for Atlus’ Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan went live on the European Nintendo 3DS eShop. As with all downloadable demos of software on Nintendo platforms, this one has a limited number of plays. What has caused a bit of a stir though, is the low number of plays available with this particular demo. For 3DS software, this is usually 10 or 30, but Etrian Odyssey IV‘s demo is limited to only 3. No, that isn’t a top for 30, which is the number for the American demo – it’s 3.
When asked about this on Twitter, NIS America responded by stating that the decision was Nintendo’s, with the limited number leaving people “wanting more” (in other words, making them want to buy the game to play more). Which is somewhat understandable for a niche title like the Etrian Odyssey series.
Etrian Odyssey IV: Legend of the Titan was released in North America back in February, with a European release slated for 30th August. Will you be picking it up?
