UPDATE: Nintendo Force writer Emily Rogers has revealed that she has heard rumblings that the update will come at the end of October, after the release of Pokémon X and Y.
Earlier this year, Nintendo announced that the Wii U’s well received Miiverse social network service would be expanding out of the console. Since then, a website (miiverse.nintendo.com) has been launched, but two of their other promises – smartphone applications and 3DS accessibility, have yet to surface despite being confirmed for later this year.
Today, Nintendo were at the Indie Games Collective Event in London showing off their eShop service where Ed Valiente. Nintendo Europe’s Business Development Manager, is reported to have stated that the service will be released for the Nintendo 3DS handheld soon.
Hopefully, this news bodes well for a massive system update that will incorporate the Wii U’s Nintendo Network ID service into their dominating console.
