StreetPass, the ability to automatically exchange game data with a complete stranger simply by walking by them in the street, without even knowing that the other person has a 3DS, is one of the biggest features of Nintendo’s latest handheld, with many top titles such as Mario Kart 7, Fire Emblem: Awakening and Animal Crossing: New Leaf supporting the feature.
Over the past few months, several fans across the world have started StreetPass groups, where fans will meet up, gain StreetPass hits and play games together. In celebration of the enthusiasm about StreetPass, Nintendo UK have officially declared 28th September 2013 as National StreetPass Day, with the company holding events at both London’s Waterloo Station and Manchester’s Piccadilly Station from 9am.
StreetPass Day stands will also be at EuroGamer Expo at Earl’s Court in London and the Cycle Show at the Birmingham NEC. If you’re at the EuroGamer stand, you’ll be able to claim a free Mario hat simply by showing your entry ticket or badge!
In order to help spread the word, Nintendo is asking people to tweet about the event using the #StreetPassDay hashtag. Also, be sure to click on our portal to StreetPass UK, to see if any groups near you are meeting up!
