As reported yesterday, the Japanese launch of Pokémon Bank and the influx of new systems received as Christmas presents has taken a massive toll on the Nintendo Network, with the eShop on both Wii U and 3DS (as well as other online services) being up and down more than a yo-yo after the last few days. Today, Nintendo announced that in an effort to alleviate server stress, they will be implementing a “rolling blackout” – limiting the time users in particular reasons can access the eShop. Currently, times for Australia have yet to be confirmed, but we do know that the eShop will only be available during the following hours in other regions:
Japan – Between 6pm and 6am (3am-3pm UK time).
Europe – Between 9am and 9pm (GMT) / 10am and 10pm (CET).
America – Between 4pm and 4am ET (9pm to 9am GMT).
These rolling blackouts will be occurring over the next couple of days. Have the service issues impacted you, or are things okey-dokey on your end?
