Marvelous AQL’s well-endowed action game series Senran Kagura has spawned a number of manga series’, an anime series and a couple of sequels ever since its 2011 debut. With Seven Seas Entertainment releasing the Senran Kagura: Skirting Shadows manga series and FUNimation having the anime series slated for a summer 2014 release, it’s no surprise that XSEED Games wanted to bring the game series to the English speaking world, with Senran Kagura Burst (which compiles the original game and adds a new story) being released on the North American Nintendo eShop last October and slated for a European release in the first quarter of this year as both a physical and digital game.
Famitsu Magazine has revealed that the game will be receiving a third sequel (the second for the Nintendo 3DS): Senran Kagura 2: Deep Horizon will be developed by series regular Tamsoft and will be released in the Japan on the Nintendo 3DS on 7th August. The game is touting the fact that it will introduce two new male characters (so finally, characters without oversized breasts…I hope!).
Sony will also be receiving some more love following from Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus: The Girls’ Proof too, in the form of Dekamori Senran Kagura. A digital-only title where characters will be stripped of their clothing upon losing, the game is developed by Meteorise for both the PlayStation Vita in two sets, with a first set focusing on characters from the first game on 20th March (for 2,400 yen, or £13.92) while a second set including characters from Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus for 2500 yen on 24th April before a combined package is released at a later date. The game is described as a “hyper breasted cooking-rhythm game”. Another Sony platform title, Senran Kagura EV was teased but nothing else was announced.
