Last week saw the European release of the big-breasted brawler Senran Kagura Burst, a game which has unfortunately attracted some controversy due to the misinformed yet vocal opinions of some. Controversy is a two way street though, with pre-orders of the Marvelous AQL and pQube’s game skyrocketing in the weeks leading to its release. This has allowed the game to edge into the United Kingdom’s All Format Chart for last week, entering the Top 40 at #38, a feat which even Square Enix’s Bravely Default was unable to accomplish. On the individual 3DS chart, Senran Kagura Burst entered in 4th place, behind only the two Pokémon games and The LEGO Movie Videogame.
In other chart related news, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze dropped seven places from 9th to 16th, while the only other Nintendo-exclusive games on the All Format chart are Pokémon Y (which rose from 30th to 28th) and Pokémon X (which fell ever so slightly from 27th to 29th). Those three games were the only Nintendo games on the Individual Format chart, with Donkey Kong taking a more dramatic drop from 4th to 21st, while Pokémon Y rose from 38th to 35th and Pokémon X fell one place from 36th to 37th.
Last week may not have been a good week for Nintendo as a whole, but it certainly has been for life and hometown! If you haven’t read our review of the game yet, you can do so here!
