Three years ago, Namco Bandai Games released a port of their PlayStation 2 JRPG Tales of the Abyss on the Nintendo 3DS. Since then though, their Tales Of series has been absent from Nintendo’s platforms, with even the 2012 localisation of Tales of Graces skipped the Wii version. In this week’s issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump manga anthology magazine though, we have learned that this is set to change.
Tales Of The World: Reve Unitia will be set in the world of Revaria, the same world as the smartphone game Tales Of The World: Tactics Union (it is currently unknown if this game is a mere port of that smartphone app or an entirely new entry). Popular characters from across the Tales Of franchise will return as playable characters, including Tales of the Abyss‘ Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear and Jade Curtis, Tales Of Eternia‘s Meredy and Tales of Vesperia‘s Yuri Lowell. The game’s main scenario, that will see Tales of Graces f‘s Asbel Lhant and Tales of Symphonia‘s Lloyd Irving fighting alongside each other, will feature full voice acting.
As well as featuring old characters, Tales of the World: Reve Unitia will also feature two new characters specifically designed for the title by character designer Daigo Okumura: the timid Terum and the stronger Nahato.
Details such as the game’s Japanese release and pricing have yet to be revealed.
