Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has been re-elected at Nintendo’s 74th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
The board of directors remained confident in Nintendo’s current President, though we do not know the approval rating as of yet. It had been decreasing in recent years – it was 92.9% in 2011, 90.6% in 2012, but just 77.26% in 2013 – so Satura Iwata may well be relieved after the Wii U’s continued struggles and another annual loss.
Satoru Iwata actually missed the meeting due to surgery, but this doesn’t seem to have affected the decision to re-elect him as Nintendo President. Mario Kart 8’s high sales may well have helped, too!
