Earlier this month we were introduced to Yu, the protagonist of Bravely Second, as well as Jean and Nikolai who collectively form the Three Musketeers of the Crystal Orthodoxy, which has led to speculation that one of the new classes coming to the highly anticipated Bravely Default sequel would be the “Musketeer” class. Today however, we have had confirmation of an entirely new class, as well as its asterisk holder: the Tomohawk job and Amy Matchlock:
Amy is from a tribe that lives in Flowell, a town that in Bravely Default was known for being a once beautiful town but found itself becoming something of an entertainment district ruled by vanity. Amy possesses the ability to speak to spirits and wields quite an unusual weapon – a gun that has an axe’s head and is said to be able to bring forth an image of her tribe’s guardian. Like with many previous job classes, Amy was designed by a special guest designer – abec of Sword Art Online fame.
As you might suspect from Amy’s intricately designed weapon, the tomohawk class specialises in offensive skills that make use of firearms, although they are said to carry some useful support abilities as well.
A new feature for the game has also been revealed, called Teach Me, Agnés. In Bravely Second, Yu and his companions will embark on a mission to rescue the kidnapped Pope of the Crystal Orthodoxy, Agnés Oblige. However, while she is being held captive, she will still be able to communicate with the group to provide hints and tips through both the main story and optional side quests. Early screenshots suggest that this feature might utilise Sleep Points, but this has yet to be confirmed:
Bravely Second is due out in Japan this winter.
