During Nintendo’s Digital Event at E3 last year, the Japanese video game publisher announced that they had secured the exclusive publishing rights to Devil’s Third, saving the action adventure game from a troubled past. Developed by Valhalla Game Studios and directed by Tomonobu Itagaki of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden fame, the game stars Ivan the Terrible, an internationally renowned terrorist who ends up assisting NATO in taking down his former terrorist allies.
Although we are now less than a week away from Nintendo’s Digital Event at this year’s E3, the publisher released a brand new video today giving potential fans their first look at the online mode, before finally revealing when they will be able to engage in the over-the-top action:
The online multiplayer of Devil’s Third will feature more than the traditional Team Death Match mode we have seen from a number of popular action games. The United States has been taken over by terrorists following Ivan’s original loss, resulting in rebel factions forming. These rebel factions will be represented by online clans, with can form allegiances and even spy on others groups.
Japanese Wii U owners will be able to experience Devil’s Third first, when it launches on the Nintendo eShop and as an Amazon-exclusive retail disc on 4th August 2015, before arriving in Europe on 28th August 2015.
