The Wii U has had well-documented struggles in terms of sales, but some positive news has come out of Japan.
Media Create has released the information that the Wii U has recently hit the 2.5 million sales mark in Japan (2,508,312 units to be precise). This can be compared to the 1,679,537 PS4s sold – though Wii U has been on sale longer in Japan. Nevertheless, this is a solid number and represents decent sales in Japan.
Last November it was shown that Wii U had hit 2 million units sold in Japan, which means around 500,000 Wii U systems have been sold since then.
As we get closer to the launch of NX, it remains to be seen how Wii U performs going forward from this point.
