Anyone who knows me as a gamer knows that my favourite game ever is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. So with the announcement of an HD remake for Wii U, permit me this: YESSSSSSSSSS!
Ahem. Anyway, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD was confirmed in the Nintendo Direct aired at 10pm (UK time) tonight. The HD party is being developed with Tantalus, an Australian-based developer. It will be available for purchase on March 4th, 2016 (this includes downloads through Nintendo eShop).
The footage showed a mix of gameplay and cutscenes, giving us a good look at how Twilight Princess had been given the HD treatment. Originally a GameCube and Wii game, Twilight Princess clearly benefits visually from the HD sheen as we see Link ride around on Epona!
Furthermore, a Wolf Link amiibo was announced that will be available through a bundle with the game next year. It was also noted that the amiibo will be available separately at some point. amiibo functionality will transfer over to The Legend of Zelda for Wii U, as well, though it was not explained how. The already available Zelda amiibo will be compatible with Twilight Princess HD, too.
