If you’ve been playing Pokémon GO and complaining about being inundated with Rattata, you may wish to look away now.
During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, alongside a plethora of new game announcements such as Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World and an upcoming Pikmin 2D platformer, a brand new trailer for Game Freak’s upcoming role-playing game pair, Pokémon Sun/Moon was broadcast.
Much like the real world in Pokémon GO, the Alola Region was originally inundated with Rattata, leading to Yungoose being introduced to try and curb their population; a mirror of the mongoose’s introduction to Hawaii.
The Rattata eventually developed a method of counter-attack however, becoming Normal/Dark-type. The Pokémon Company International’s official press release has also confirmed the existence of an Alolan Raticate.
If you purchase a copy of Pokémon Sun/Moon before 11th January 2017, you will be able to download a free Munchlax that knows the event-exclusive moves Hold Back and Happy Hour and will be holding the Snorlium Z, a Z-Crystal that will allow Snorlax to use the Pulverizing Pancake Z-Move.
Pokémon Sun/Moon will be released exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS internationally on 18 November 2016, except in Europe, where the games are due out on 23rd November 2016.
