At Tanuki Bridge, we’re huge fans of Kenichiro Takaki’s infamously busty brawler Senran Kagura; being firm proponents of the series ever since the first Nintendo 3DS title came westward and now, with the franchise having just celebrated its fifth anniversary, we’ll soon be hearing about its next instalment.
Following a tease on the series’ anniversary site, the series’ producer Kenichiro Takaki confirmed that a new Senran Kagura title is in development during a Famitsu live-stream on the Nico Nico streaming service. With a full announcement confirmed for the next issue of Famitsu Magazine on 6th October, the only piece of information given during the announcement was a piece of artwork featuring the character Yagyu; leaving even the game’s platform shrouded in mystery.
Previously, Senran Kagura games have been released on the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, PS4 and mobile platforms, with the Vita’s Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus also being ported to PC in the west.
The latest game in the franchise, Senran Kagura: Estival Versus was released for the PlayStation 4 and Vita platforms in Europe and North America earlier this year by Marvelous Games and XSEED Games (respectively).
