Featuring characters from Type-Moon’s critically acclaimed pantheon of Fate works, Marvelous Games’ highly anticipated hack-and-slash sequel, Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star will be launching in Europe and Australia on 20 January 2017, the company has announced this morning.
As well as the previously revealed Moon Crux Edition, the game is also now available to pre-order digitally from the PlayStation Store, which will offer early adopters an exclusive costume for pre-ordering:
- PlayStation 4: “Shacked Bride Outfit” DLC for Nero; compatible with both playforms.
- PlayStation Vita: Day One Edition available for first two weeks after launch. Includes Gilgamesh’s “Cold-Blooded Warrior” outfit for both platforms.
A standalone sequel following the events of Fate/Extra (PSP, Ghostlight), fans of the franchise will be able to play as a plethora of popular characters from across the franchise’s history in a brand new, original story. Nero and her master have won the previous war and rule over the surviving servants with the Regalia ring as proof of their victory. When Nero is confronted by another adorning a Regalia however, a new battle unfolds that will see unlikely alliances from across the Fate pantheon as they prepare for a conflict that may very well tear the world apart.
