Masashi Kishimoto’s iconic, coming-of-age ninja story Naruto finally concluded its fifteen year run in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2014 and the Will of Fire was passed down to the next generation. Boruto Uzumaki has since led last year’s Boruto: Naruto The Movie and his very own manga series, which is now set to become an anime.
Announced on-stage at JUMP FESTA in Japan, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, a brand new television anime series, will begin broadcasting in Japan from April 2017! Adapted from the manga by Masashi Kishimoto (story) and Mikio Ikemoto (art), the series tells the story of Konoha’s next generation and a young boy’s struggle to cast light outside his father’s shadow.
Reprising their roles from Boruto: Naruto The Movie, the series will star Yūko Sanpei (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood‘s Selim Bradley) in the title role, with Cocoro Kikuchi (Squid Girl‘s Kiyomi Sakura) portraying Sarada Uchiha and Ryuichi Kijima (Fire Emblem Awakening‘s Inigo) as Mitsuki. Junko Takeuchi will also be returning as Naruto Uzumaki.
