The much-rumoured Valentine’s Day event for Pokémon Go is now official!
From 7pm GMT today until the same time on February 15th (one day after Valentine’s Day), you will get extra reward for breeding Pokémon and hatching Eggs. In plainer terms, all the romance will lead to twice the amount of Candy for catching Pokémon, hatching Eggs, transferring Pokémon (which is slightly less lovely), or having a buddy Pokémon.
It doesn’t stop there, either. The colour pink is getting a boost, with Chansey, Clefable and Porygon more likely to appear and the baby Pokémon Cleffa, Iggybuff and Smoochum suitably more likely to hatch from Eggs as well.
To top everything off, Lure Modules – used to attract Pokémon to a location – now last for 6 hours rather than the standard 30 minutes. They really pulled out all the stops for the romantic meanings, eh; you can check out the announcement on the official site here.
This isn’t the only action happening around Niantic’s mobile sensation. Recently, select Pokémon from Pokémon Gold & Silver were added to the game, and it looks like a new device for playing the title is on the way too.
Will you be going outside to see if love is in the air (sorry) for this Pokémon Go event? Let us know in the comments or on social media!
