Nintendo 3DS title Senran Kagura Burst is making the leap to high definition, following today’s announcement of Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, a remake headed to Sony’s PlayStation 4 console. The game will launch in Japan on 22nd February 2018.
The first in the franchise to be released in the west, Senran Kagura Burst was an enhanced re-release of the series’ seminal title, introducing the world to the busty action lying in the shadows of the shinobi world. A trainee at the renowned Hanzō Academy, Asuka and her classmates have a lot to learn about the world around them. Faced with Homura of the rival Hebijo Clandestine Girls Academy of “evil shinobi”, groups of girls previously divided between lines of black and white will clash in a journey of self-discovery and cloth-shredding shinobi action!
Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal will mark the first time a game from the franchise’s first timeline will be released on a non-Nintendo platform and will feature Yumi, from the Versus series, as an additional playable character.
We offered heavy praise to Senran Kagura Burst in our original 2014 review, which you can read here.
In addition to the remake news, today’s Senran Kagura Presentation ended with a teaser trailer for Senran Kagura 7EVEN, a brand new PlayStation 4 title, currently slated for Japanese release in Autumn 2018.
