From the vibrant, creative mind of acclaimed anime director Masaaki Yuasa (“The Tatami Galaxy”), the delightfully eccentric feature film “Night is Short, Walk on Girl” is set to begin its sprawl across the United Kingdom’s nightlife with a nationwide theatrical release from 4th October, 2017. However, distributor Anime Limited have announced a couple of early opportunities fans of Yuasa won’t want to pass up.
Presented by Scotland Loves Anime and the Glasgow Youth Film Festival, the UK premiere of Night is Short, Walk on Girl will be held at the Glasgow Film Theatre on Saturday 9th September – and following the screening, will include a Q&A session with the man himself, Masaaki Yuasa!
Fans south of the Northern border need not despair however, as the festivities will then be headed to the English capital of London at the Picturehouse Central in Stratford, London on 11th September – with Mr. Yuasa popping along for a Q&A session there too!
Distributor Anime Limited describes the film as follows:
“Gracefully yet violently, The Girl with Black Hair (Kana Hanazawa) swirls through the abstract Kyoto night a joyful tempest. Blowing through pub crawls, festivals and book fairs, her youthful glee infects parties of increasingly eccentric characters, but amongst the debtors, existentialists and the God of the Old Book Market, can she be convinced “coincidental” encounters are fate and will she notice the Senpai (Gen Hoshino) in pursuit of her love?
Whether the hands on your clock move fast or slow, Night is Short, Walk On Girl.”
Tickets for the Glasgow premiere are currently available for purchase. We’ll keep you updated on when London tickets go live.
