Later this month, Pokémon players from around the world will be gathering at London’s ExCel Centre for the European Internationals; the first major tournament of the new competitive season. Due to the event taking place on the launch weekend of the Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon games however, competitors will still be using the franchise’s previous releases, Sun and Moon to compete.
Fans looking for their first chance to test out the newer games and meta however, won’t have to wait long. The Pokémon Company International has confirmed this morning that the Leipzig Regional Championships will be the first European major event to allow the use of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon between 27-28 January 2018, as part of DreamHack in Liepzig, Germany.
Before then however, is the Turin Special Event, taking place at the annual Xmas Comics & Games convention at Lingotto Fiere in Turin, Italy between 16-17 December 2017. This event however, will still be using Pokémon Sun and Moon.
Both events will also host Trading Card Game tournaments, with both events allowing players the chance to win trophies, unique playmats, TCG booster packs, up to 200 championship points and more.
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon will be launching for the Nintendo 3DS, worldwide, on 17 November 2017.
