If you’ve somehow managed to exhaust all the content in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, then don’t worry – a New Game plus mode is coming soon!
Tetsuya Takahashi, the director of Monolith Soft, has written a Japanese production note detailing a new update for the Nintendo Switch JRPG. Releasing on February 13th, Update 1.3.0 brings the “Advanced New Game Mode,” introducing the ability to play through Xenoblade Chronicles 2 again. Expect your general New Game plus fare, with tougher enemies or upgraded abilities.
Additionally, the update will fix an issue from the previous one (1.2.0). Takahashi described the issue (quote via Gematsu):
“In the version 1.2.0 update, there is a bug in certain instances during and after Chapter 7 where a Blade linked with a specific Driver disappears from the Blade List (it only disappears from the list, the Blade itself does not disappear).”
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is out now on Nintendo Switch. The prospect of finishing the massive campaign is daunting enough, but yeah, sure, let’s have the option to play it a second time.
