The stylish JRPG Persona 5 was one of the standout games of 2017, and now the beloved story is being adapted into an anime!
Named Persona 5 The Animation, it will tell the same story as the game; you can expect to see the return of popular characters like Morgana, Ann Takamaki, and Ryuji Sakamoto. We’ve received a teaser trailer, which shows off early events of the story – you can check it out below:
Predictably, the bold art style of the game has translated brilliantly into the anime format. Both Atlus (publishers of the game) and animation studio A-1 pictures are producing on Persona 5 The Animation, which is releasing by April in Japan.
It isn’t confirmed that an English dubbing and/or localisation will be happening, but given the fanbase the series has garnered in the west, it may be likely at some point. Until then, you can always play the game itself, which is available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 – you can check out our impressions of the first 10 hours here!
