Japan is getting a box set of the soundtrack from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and we need it in the west, OK?
There are two editions – Regular, and a special First-Print version – both containing 5 discs of all the music in the Wii U and Switch masterpiece, including tracks from the DLC packs and that phenomenal trailer. You know, the one from the January 2017 Switch unveiling, which left us all stunned. Somehow, the incredible music from said trailer (which is worth another watch, below) wasn’t implemented in the actual game!
Differences between the editions are mainly in the packaging (this is the link to the official page). The First-Print release has a unique Play-Button feature, which plays the overworld theme from Breath of the Wild at the push of, well, a button. The pricing of the First Edition, as you may expect, is higher, too, at 7,000 yen (about £48) compared to 5,000 yen (about £34) for the Regular edition. It’s up on Amazon Japan right now, and below are images from the listing:
So, let’s cut to the chase. This is beautiful, and I need this – and I’m confident I’m not the only one who feels like that. Please, Nintendo, let us give you our money. Release this OST in the west.
