Back when The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was unveiled at E3 2014, there was speculation that we may see a female main character. Whilst that never officially happened, a modder has made the effort to change things!
The modder, who goes by the name lanyard killer, turned the main player character model of Breath of the Wild into that of Linkle – even going as far as including her own voice! Linkle is a character in her own right, rather than a direct female version of Link; she was originally a concept that never saw release for Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U (at one point, she was discussed as Link’s sister), but was later included in the 3DS version Hyrule Warriors Legends.
You can check out a video of the mod below, which was posted by lanyard killer on YouTube:
Would you like to see Linkle officially become the star of a future Zelda game? Or perhaps Zelda herself become the player character? You can let us know in the comments!
