A new research feature in Pokémon Go is opening up the opportunity to catch Mew – the first mythical Pokémon in the mobile title!
Starting March 30th – that’s today, by the way – you can collaborate with in-game character Professor Willow to help with his research; to be specific, there are two different types:
- Field Research: Whenever you spin a PokéStop, you can receive objectives that include catching certain Pokémon or taking part in battles.
- Special Research: These are more story-driven, with Professor Willow informing you of activities that tie more into the world of Pokémon Go!
Items are given as rewards for completing research. The tougher the research, the better the reward, which, well, makes sense. Whilst there is no limit on this, there is a limit on the stamps given for Field Research – one can be obtained a day.
Gather 7 – which matches up nicely to a week of stamp-collecting – and you will encounter a Research Breakthrough, where you can get even better items. Oh, and also the chance to meet Mew. Yes, that’s right – the Mythical Pokémon is in Pokémon Go!
Well, then – what’s the hold up? In other Pokémon news, this video shows Pokémon Blue being finished in 25 minutes.
