The run of Pokémon GO Community Days isn’t letting up, with May giving the focus to Generation I Starter Pokémon Charmander!
For a period of 3 hours on May 19th, Pokémon GO players will be able to encounter a Charmander with a special move. Alternatively, if you evolve a Charmeleon into a Charizard in the 3-hour window, that Pokémon will also gain the move. To cap things off, players will earn 3 times the amount of Stardust, and Lure Modules will last for 3 hours.
Just as with the Community Days of previous months, the event will be limited to just a few hours; the hours for different timezones are as follows (via Serebii):
- Europe: 9am-12pm UTC, 10am-1pm BST, 12pm-3pm CET
- North America: 6pm-9pm UTC, 11am-2pm PDT, 2pm-5pm EDT
- Asia & Oceania: 3am-6am UTC, 12pm-3pm JST
The point still remains that these events seem quite unfair to some people who might like access to them; all it takes to lose out is to be working on that Saturday or have some other arrangement. On the other hand, the way Pokémon GO fans come together for the Community Days is great to see (use the #PokemonGOCommunityDay social media hashtag to see more on that).
Are you still playing Pokémon GO? Do you think the Community Day events should last longer? You can let us know in the comments!
